Pumpkin Exploration

What is inside of a pumpkin?  Some guesses were "candy", "sticks", "gross slime" and "pumpkin meat".  When we opened it up, we found seeds and "stringy and slimy stuff" (pulp).

Our Pumpkin Observations:

The outside of the pumpkin was hard, orange, a little bumpy and had a stem on top.

The inside was squishy, wet, slimy, a little soft and had seeds all over.  The seeds were fun to pull out and push around on the plate.

Pumpkin Farm Trip

Our visit to the pumpkin farm was a lot of fun!  We had so much to do and see while we were there.  We went on a very bumpy hayride around the pumpkin patch, had a chance to ride on a pony and hold kittens that were only a couple weeks old.  All of the children and parents had the opportunity to pick out their very own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to take home!  The best part of the day was riding on a BIG school bus!!

Color, Cut & Glue

Working on our small motor development while learning how to use a scissors!  First we chose a farm animal to color.  Next we cut around the picture and glued it to a piece of paper.  It was hard work and everyone did an amazing job!

Exploring Colors

Check out all of the intense color mixing going on here!!  Instead of using paint brushes, we used our fingers to make some beautiful colors!   We started out with red, blue and yellow paint...which we turned into orange, purple, green and brown!
